Actors
The points in the film I like most are when the actors aren’t actually acting but just chatting normally which was usually when they didn’t realise we were actually still filming. The conversations are more fun than what I wrote and the acting isn’t particularly great in the film to be honest but they did a good job in memorising the lines and it was a challenge to find actors of the age of the characters so I would of been extremely lucky to find the next Freddie Highmoor ala time of Finding Neverland. Probably the most amount of footage we had was of the boys playing and chatting normally but I decided not to use too much of of this because a little is ok but with a numerous amount of childs waffle in the film it would of been too much. I believe working with non children would of benefitted this film more because it was more likely I could find some good. But one of the bonuses about working with child actors compared to someone older was that they were instantly relaxed and comfortable. Whilst maybe someone older may of been slightly more on edge and took it overly seriously whilst the kids just had fun running about the fields. The parents both mentioned how much they did enjoyed the days of filming which was great to hear. So it was a very relaxed couple of days filming really just enjoying the beautiful countryside. Another plus from using child actors meant that the parents were extremely helpful because they are so keen for their child to succeed their happy to be involved because for the parents they saw it as a chance for the child to get practice and build up a show reel. Everyone got on really well especially the two boys which hopefully shows in the film in some scenes.
